Week 5 – Angela’s Cats

Who can forget Angela’s cats? From the untimely demise of Sprinkles to her $7,000 pride and joy Princess Lady, Angela is the crazy cat lady of our generation.

Side note: I’m fairly certain that Garbage, the cat that Dwight gave to Angela to make up for killing Sprinkles, later become Bandit, who Andy gives to Angela when trying to woo her. That’s my fan theory, anyway.

Who can forget Pretzel Day? We work hard all year. Well, some of us do. Remember when Pam had to keep a log for Jan about what Michael did all day?

Not a lot makes Stanley pay attention, but on Pretzel Day, well, he likes Pretzel Day.

Honorable mention: In this episode Dwight takes Ryan on his first sales call but really drives him out to his beet farm to help him conquer his sales fears.

I went easy on you in week 1 and 2 but this week’s graph is a doozy.

Week 3 – Schrute Buck

Oh, Dwight. Whether he’s painting his office black to intimidate his subordinates, handing out demerits (and receiving full disadulations), or rewarding his underlings with Schrute Bucks, he is an authoritarian leader who knows what he’s about; Authority.

This is one of my very favorite panels in the CAL but boy was I glad to be done with it. You’re going to want to pay someone a billion Stanley nickels to weave in all those ends for you. But all those bobbins and color changes are totally worth it.

Week 2 of our Crochet-A-Long is here and it’s a lot to unpack! Oh The Office, how I love thee, let me count the ways.

Week 2 The Fun Run

Who can forget The Fun Run? Or as Michael calls it.

 Michael Scott’s Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race For The Cure.

For some back story we have to take it back half a season to when there was a bat in the office and Dwight trapped it in a garbage bag on Meredith’s head, potentially exposing her to rabies.

(Also the episode where Jim convinces Dwight that it was a vampire bat and he was bitten and now carries the vampiric gene.) Oh, And Pam’s art show! But I digress.

In the two-part season 4 premiere Michael hits Meredith with his car, cracking her pelvis. While in the hospital they decide to treat her for rabies as a precaution because of her recent encounters with wildlife, thus breaking the curse that hit Meredith with Michael’s car.

So many good moments in this episode. First and foremost, Jam is finally confirmed! (Jim and Pam). Also, Dwight kills Sprinkles, Pam sees Michael’s penis, and Andy’s nipples chaffe. Also, an iconic Michael Scott quote

“I’m not superstitious but I am a little stitious.”

The Office Crochet-A-Long Graphghan

I’m so excited our Crochet-A-Long (CAL) has finally started! I’ve been dying to share all of these amazing panels with everyone. The Office is one of my favorite shows of all time. And it doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen it, it still make me literally laugh out loud every time.

So without further ado:

Week 1 – Stapler in Jello

OF COURSE I had to pay homage to the prank wars between Jim and Dwight. And this scene from the pilot is iconic. I’m a huge flan of it.

For my panel I used a combination of Red Heart Super Saver yarn which you can find online or in many craft stores and Craft Smart value yarn which I know is available at Michael’s.

Colors:

Red Heart Super Saver

• cafe latte
• aran
• charcoal

Crafts Smart

• white
• butter
• gray

I used two different grays for the stapler but if I had it to do again I would use black instead of charcoal for the darker color so that there was a better contrast. I’m starting y’all off easy, this panel is a piece of cake and the color changes are pretty effortless.

For those who have purchased the pattern I have also revealed two bonus panels in the updated Ravelry file and in our private Facebook group. Bonus panels are just that – bonuses. They can be used in place of official panels. There will be 8 bonus panels revealed buy the end of the CAL.
