“Honest” Free Printable Gift Tags

I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of the cute printable tags for your handmade items around the internet. There are a lot of adorable “Made with Love” type gift tags out there to choose from. But I got to thinking, what if we were really honest on our handmade labels? So I’ve put together this set of four “honest” free printable gift tags.

Printable “Made with Love” Snarky Gift Tags

I know this is a crochet blog but in case you haven’t noticed yet, sometimes I gotta scratch a graphic design itch. So I took to Instagram and Facebook and asked; What would your handmade tags say if you were being totally honest?

And ya’ll did not disappoint. I jotted down a lot of good ideas. So many, in fact, that I couldn’t include them all in one post. So expect more honest labels from me in the future. These printable gift tags are totally free and you can download and then print them at home on card stock or kraft paper. You can browse current prices of kraft paper on Amazon below.

Made With Love (and Inadvertent Pieces of My Own Hair)

There were quite a few suggestions about every crocheter and knitters dark secret: the amount of our own DNA that we weave into each creation. (Or our pets! Don’t miss my honest labels for pet lovers here.)

Made With Love (and the Occasional Swear Word)

Also, the amount of swearing that may or may not go into a particular piece.

This Took Forever

And let’s not forget how long it takes to make a handmade item.

I Made This (For Less than Minimum Wage)

Plus, don’t even get us started on fair compensation. Try not to look so surprised at our prices when you’re browsing at a craft fair.

Funny Honest Handmade Gift Tag Printables

I hope you like these four, totally free, printable tags for your handmade products and projects. I know that the fine print is tiny on the small tags, but that’s kind of the point, right? To see the look on someones face when they have to do a double take and squint at the passive aggressive fine print.

You can download these labels for free when you join my email list. The download includes a 4 page PDF with 12 labels displayed per page.

Free Crochet Dice Bag Pattern

I have a new, free crochet pattern for you today! Look at this adorable dice bag!

Free Crochet Dice Bag Pattern

I feel like a bit of a poser with this design because, full disclosure, I am not a proper dice OR Dr Who fan. *gasp*

In fact, my color choices were totally random for this project. It wasn’t until I asked for help naming it on Facebook that people started to point out that it reminded them of The TARDIS from Dr Who.

And, behold, the TARDICE dice bag was born. (Don’t groan, I LOVE a good pun or play on words)

You can find the free pattern below or purchase an inexpensive, ad-free PDF version on Etsy and Ravelry at the bottom of this post.

Tie off and weave in ends.

Cord

There are a lot of ways to do work the cording on a bag. I chose the method below as a fast fix. I didn’t have any pull closures on hand so I tied a button to my chain and tied a loop knot to close.

Chain 40, leaving at least a 3 inch tail at the beginning and end. Use a needle to thread tails into a cute button, securing with a knot and cutting remaining ends.

The Office Printable Art Quotes

Okay, so by now you know that The Office is one of my favorite shows of all time. I mean, one does not simply crochet an entire Office themed blanket, without being a bonafide fan. Soooo recently I got another wild hair and designed a bunch of downloadable prints based on funny quotes from The Office.

Funny Office Quotes Downloadable Print Art

Funny Office Quotes Prints

Including a couple of funny lines from Dwight Schrute and Andy Bernard that I don’t hear quoted as much but crack me up every time I rewatch The Office.

The printable quotes are available for purchase on Etsy. You can find them in the printable art section of my shop. (You may also find some Parks and Rec quotes there. Sue me.)(No, don’t sue me … that is the opposite of the point I am trying to make.)

Digital Download Only

This is a digital purchase – no physical print is included. After checking out through Etsy you will receive an email and be prompted to download your PDF file which you can print at home or anywhere digital printing is offered.

It’s a quick and cheap gift idea for the true Office nerd. Print your quote, snag a frame from the Dollar Tree, and you have yourself a present for under five bucks to take to your company Secret Santa party. Or Yyyyyankee Swap!

Mandala Squares Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern

Rainbow Mandala Crochet Blanket Pattern
Candy Jar Rainbow Mandala Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern

I have something equal parts exciting and adorable for you today. I’ve been working in the background for a bit now to bring you this tooth-achingly sweet baby blanket crochet pattern.

This pattern is made up of a single mandala that is squared off and joined together to create just the most squishy and gorgeous baby blanket.  Finished squares are approximately 12 inches across and finished 9 square baby blanket is approximately 38 inches across. Of course, this will vary depending on your tension and yarn/hook choice.

I took to my Instagram for help naming this blanket and one of my followers said the colors reminded them of old fashioned candy and suggested the name “Candy Jar”. I looooved the idea and so here you have the Candy Jar Blanket.

“Candy Jar” Mandala Baby Blanket Pattern

"Candy Jar" Mandala Baby Blanket Pattern

I used Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn for my blanket in the color “tutti fruitti”. There are over 20 different colorways in the Ice Cream line and they’re all so pretty. It retails for 4.99 at Hobby Lobby where I purchased mine. Find current deals on Amazon below.

Of course, it doesn’t have to be a baby blanket. With the addition of more squares you could make this as big as you’d like to fit any sized bed. Or it could be worked up in solid colors. I’d looove to see other color variations. Make sure to tag me on Instagram or Facebook @psychedelicdoilies with your finished product and use the hashtag #candyjarblanket.

I kept this graph super simple, with only three colors – White, Black, and Grey. Specific yarn brand is hookers choice. This graph is a beast, measuring 90 x 103 pixels in size. The pattern comes in chart and written instructions. It can be knitted, crocheted, or cross stitched! If you’ve never crocheted a graph before, check out the articles below to get started.

Below you will find the free written instructions for the Jack Skellington graph and also the full sized chart. If you’d prefer the ad-free printable version of both you can purchase it from my shop. The paid version of the graph includes a 9 part breakdown so the chart is larger and easier to see.

Check out this fan finished version! It looks like they used double crochet to work their graph. I believe it’s 2 DC per tile. So fun!
